Dubai, Sep 3: Following in the age old tradition of ‘Monthi Fest' held every year on the occasion of the birthday of Mother Mary in lush green Mangalore city and surrounding towns of Dakshina Kannada district,  St Mary’s Konkan Community (SMKC) Dubai has, through a media release, announced its plans to celebrate the Nativity Feast of Blessed Mother, “Monthi Fest,” on Monday September 8.

The festive High Mass will be held at 8 pm in the main church, followed by offering of flowers to Mother Mary by little children in front of the Grotto, in the church compound.

During the mass, paddy corns will be blessed and distributed to all the faithfuls after the mass. The traditional “Novem Jevann” will be served in the church compound immediately after the mass and flower festival.

This being the family feast, SMKC has invited more and more families to participate in this “Novem Jevann” traditional meal, and come together as one big family on Monday September 8 at the said venue.
