Indian, Pakistani troops trade heavy fire on LoC


Jammu, Apr 22 (IANS): Indian and Pakistani troops traded heavy fire on the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

Police sources said the Pakistan Army started indiscriminate shelling and firing on Indian positions in Digwar area.

"The Pakistanis used mortars, small arms and automatics to target Indian positions. The ceasefire violation started at 7.30 a.m.," a police officer said. "Indian positions retaliated effectively and strongly."

No casualty or damage has been reported from the Indian side.

On Saturday, the two armies traded heavy fire in Kerni sector of Poonch district.
