Bantwal: Senior citizen drowns in Netravati river

Bantwal, Apr 24: Rama Holla (69), resident of Basavanagudi near Vittal, drowned in Netravati river. The tragedy happened when he entered the river near Nandavar in the taluk for taking bath on Monday April 23.

Holla had come to Nandavar to pay obeisance at the temple located here. He removed his clothes, placed them on a rock by the side of the rivulet, and went into the river for bath. He drowned in the river, as he could not muster enough strength to recover and help himself, police stated.

After  some clothes were found on the bank of the river, a search was launched. The man's mortal remains were found from the river water. His family was contacted on the basis of  telephone number found in his purse.
