Mangalore: Western Institute of Technology Inaugurated in City

Mangalore, Sep 5: The newly-set up Western Institute of Technology, located at Circuit House, here was inaugurated on Friday September 5.
Blossom Fernandes, wife of union minister Oscar Fernandes, inaugurated the building and graced the occasion. Fr Peter Noronha, parish priest of St Sebastian’s Church, Bendore, blessed the new building.
MLAs Abhayachandra and U T Khader, former minister Amarnath Shetty, Mumbai trade union leader Felix D Souza, Ohio Franklin University senior vice-president Prof Klaus Haberich, Dr Godfrey F Mendes and Walter Stephen Mendes were present at the dais.
Western Institute of Technology (WIT) has been set up with the objective of creating skilled and technically capable man power, in tune with the demands of the globally competitive business market which has been growing strongly at a fast pace. WIT, which has started functioning in Mangalore in association with Chicago Training and Consultancy, has been recognized by Wisconsin and Franklin universities, well known American universities with a history of about 130 years. The students who pass out through our institute, are issued certificates from Wisconsin and Franklin Universities.
The institute will offer management-related courses such as, health-safety-environment, sales and marketing, office administration, communication and public speaking, project management, cost engineering and consultation, planning and scheduling, retail management, computerized accounting and others.
