Mangaluru, May 1: V Narayanasamy, Puducherry chief minister, on Tuesday May 1, targeted the BJP and PM Modi for their double-speak on corruption.
Addressing a press meet here at Congress office, the CM said, "Karnataka government led by chief minister Siddaramaiah has delivered 98% of the promises. Biggest achievement of the Karnataka government is, it has been successful in getting 24% of foreign investment to the state. Industrial development was possible because of the favourable climate created by the Siddaramaiah government,”
“Prime Minister Modi says he is friend of farmers but in reality nothing was given to them. Siddaramaiah knows the pain, anguish of the farmers. Therefore he waived off the loans. He also implemented welfare schemes such as free rice scheme which has helped scores of poor in the state,” he added.
“Modi who has woken up during election time said that he will not indulge in corruption nor allow anyone to do. Unfortunately the BJP has fielded tainted B S Yeddyurappa as their CM candidate. It is a double speak on their part and they are opportunists to the core. They target Congress over corruption and they welcome corrupt leaders. They want to come to power by hook or by crook. They have no principles and they are cheaters. They have not implemented what they promised. They renamed UPA programmes in the name of RSS leaders. They say 18,000 households have been electrified but it was UPA government has electrified 70% of villages across the country,” he continued.
“BJP has a communal agenda and they have nothing to accuse against the Congress. Modi has been telling ‘Na khaunga na khane doonga.’. But a corrupt leader like Yeddyurappa is their CM face. They have been misusing official machineries such as IT, CBI and ED.CBI has closed cases against tainted Gali Janardhana Reddy. We never interfered in CBI but it has become Modi Bureau of investigation. BJP has given tickets to 8 tainted leaders. They have been even projecting tainted Sriramulu as their deputy CM. BJP has been exposed in Karnataka,” he said.
He also lashed out at Modi and the BJP for causing huge loss by taking up Rafale deal.
Taking a dig at Modi, he said, "During a public rally today in Chamarajanagar he said there is BJP wave and storm in Karnataka. If it is a storm or cyclone, then it is going to destroy Karnataka,”
“BJP government at the centre promised special status to Andhra Pradesh but even after 4 years it is not fulfilled. Today Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu is openly urging people of Karnataka not to support the BJP. They are betrayers. They even failed to keep up the promise made to Bihar to issue special grants,” he informed.
“This is a new kind of loot by the Modi government. The Punjab bank scam, Choksi scam in Gujarat and the Nirav Modi scam, in all these scams, Modi did not open his mouth and utter a word in this regard. Hence Karnataka people are aware of the anti-people policies of the BJP government. Congress will get majority and retain the power,” he said.
“Our key agenda is development and employment to the people of Karnataka. Main focus is to have peace in the state,” he concluded.
The Congress also released a video of BJP leaders B S Yeddyurappa, Shobha Karandlaje, D V Sadananda Gowda, C T Ravi and others double-speak on various issues also blaming each other over different issues.
