Udupi, May 2: BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje on Wednesday May 2 made an explosive statement that PM Modi did not visit Udupi's world famous Sri Krishna Math as he feared for his life.
Responding to a media query on why Modi did not visit the Math despite being in Udupi, Karandlaje said that the SPG had advised the PM not to visit the Math following security issues.
"PM Modi was disappointed that he could not visit the Math," she added.
"But we do not know the exact reason why he was stopped by the SPG from visiting the Math," she said.
On Tuesday May 1 Modi had addressed a rally at MGM ground in Udupi but did not visit the famous Krishna Math. Though the information department had said he would visit the Math, the BJP clarified that his visit was cancelled just hours before his arrival.
