Mangaluru: VHP seeks voters support for BJP without mentioning its name

Mangaluru, May 4: "Congress has joined hands with SDPI, which is driven by communalist principles, through tacit understanding for the coming election. Along with Muslim appeasement, the party thereby also has been extending support for disruptive activities. Therefore, our aim should be to root out Congress party, and support a party which pledges itself to the cause of cow conservation, preserves principles based on righteous principles and installs religious harmony," said Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) regional organizing secretary, Gopal, on behalf of Karnataka unit of VHP.

He urged the people of Karnataka not to fall prey for monetary and other lures, keep the interests of the state in mind, and support a party which is in favour of culture of religion, duly taking care not to mention the name of BJP.

Addressing a press meet at the VHP office here on Thursday May 3, Gopal stressed that Congress cannot be termed as pro-Hindu just because its leaders make a beeline for temples on the eve of election. "Congress chief, Rahul Gandhi, and Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah, are playing out a farce to mislead people by visiting temples. Otherwise why would they pursue anti-Hindu policies," he wondered.

Gopal stated that interests of Hindus can be protected by only candidates who genuinely support Hindus. He felt that in the state administration as of now, there is no one who has interests of Hindus in his mind. "Hindus are not against Muslims. Whenever pro-Hindu governments are in office, communal tensions have never aggravated," he stated.

Hindu leaders like Jagadish Shenava, Sharan Pumpwell, Gopal Kuthar and Praveen Kuthar were present.
