Udupi: Youth who married against family's wish, goes missing from hospital

Udupi, May 5: A youth who married the girl he was in love with, despite bitter opposition from his family members, later consumed poison and was admitted into a hospital. Strangely, he went missing from the hospital. Information about this incident came into the open with inordinate delay.

A missing case about this incident was filed at Kota police station. The man who went missing has been identified as Abhishek (22) from Tekkatte.

Abhishek had fallen in love with Ranjeetha (22) from Kota Padukere and married her at Neelavar in the taluk on July 30, 2017. As she encountered strong opposition from family members of her husband, Ranjeetha chose to stay with her parents thereafter.

In the meanwhile, Abhishek consumed poisonous substance for some reason and was hospitalized. It is said that when Ranjeetha came to the hospital to meet her husband, she was not allowed inside the room. In her complaint filed now, Ranjeetha has said that Abhishek has been missing from the hospital since November 1, 2017.
