Nativity Feast Celebrations at Vancouver, Canada

    Vancouver, Sep 8: Monti Fest Celebration at the Immaculate Conception Church in Delta, British Columbia, Canada on September 7, 2008
     
    The event was organised under the leadership of our Mangalorean Carmalite Fathers,  Fr.John Pinto, Fr. Jerry D'souza & Fr. Mario with the help of Meera Nazareth, Ella & Louie D'cunha, Gratian Fernandes & other community members.













    A Konkani mass and the blessing of the Novem was held at 6 pm at the Immaculate Conception Church in Delta, Canada. The recital of 'Sakkad sangathan melyam' hymn was accompanied with the showering of flowers. This was followed by the traditional Novem Jhevan at the Parish hall. Everyone got to enjoy the authentic vegetarian food with sannas, which was cooked by the community members. There was Konkani music throughout the evening and the entire Mangalorean community had fun.

    The function came to an end at 10pm and all the community members made this Monti Fest a grand success

      Thank you to everyone who participated and organized this year's Monthi Fest celebration. It's always gives us an opportunity to meet others in our Mangalorean community and for the younger generation to learn about their culture and traditions which aren't as easy to learn living so far from home.
