Mysuru, May 8: A police constable who tried to secretly record proceedings of a bedroom in Devaraja Mohalla here was caught and thrashed by the people.

The man who got this treatment from the people happens to be Mahboob, constable of Lashkar police station in the city. Mehboob, who was returning home after duty hours at around 11.30 pm on Sunday, reached a house in Devaraja Mohalla. He began to capture goings on in a bedroom of the house through its window by using his cellphone. Some locals noticed him, thought him to be a thief, raised commotion, held him and beat him up.

When the man revealed that he happens to be a policeman, the people were caught by surprise. They handed him over to Devaraja station. As neither the owner of the house in question nor the others filed any complaint, no case was officially registered against Mehboob. However, the police have sent a report to the city police commissioner, recommending for his suspension as he behaved improperly with the people, it is gathered.
