Chikkamagaluru: People asked to commit to vote for C T Ravi in divine presence?

Daijiworld Media Network - Chikkamagaluru (SP)

Chikkamagaluru, May 9: All the three major political parties have been vying with each other in this constituency to garner popular support. At a time when electioneering is in its zenith, an allegation that BJP leaders have been trying to extend lure of pilgrimage to women voters in particular with the plan to make them commit in the divine presence to vote for BJP candidates has surfaced.

This allegation seemed to get some credence going by the fact that two private buses carrying villagers from Kethamaranahalli near here to Dharmasthala was stopped and questioned on Tuesday May 8 morning. The buses were bound for pilgrimage centre, Dharmasthala. Kadur taluk electoral officials, who stopped the buses, seized them. It is learnt that a case stands registered against local BJP leaders, Mohan Kumar and Kamala, accusing them of enticing voters by offering to take them on pilgrimage free of cost.

C T Ravi

It is alleged that Ravi's supporters offered the lure of Dharmasthala pilgrimage and monetary consideration to villagers from Kethamaranahalli and Gollarahatti villages near here. About 700 villagers were given this offer, it is said. The supporters allegedly planned to make the pilgrims take religious vow to support BJP candidate at the pilgrimage centre. It is said that arrangements had been made on Monday night to take voters, most of them women, in three buses to Dharmasthala on Tuesday. Leaders of opposition parties, who came to know about this arrangement, complained to electoral officials on Monday night, urging them to take preventive steps. Acting on the complaint, the electoral officials, acting along with police, stopped buses near Sakharayapattana and collected information from passengers.

After questioning the villagers, the police took the buses into possession and sent people home. They also are said to have registered case against local BJP leaders, Kamala and Mohan Kumar.

The electoral officials later got information that the villagers reached the town and planned to travel to Dharmasthala by KSRTC buses. Electoral officer, Tushar Ramani, and town station police sub-inspector then subjected hundreds of villagers travelling to Dharmasthala by a government bus to scrutiny. The official later said that the villagers were found to have bought separate tickets and hence it does not fall under model code of conduct.

This style of functioning of from one of the political party in Chickmangalore and in villages are existed to a great extent for more than decade. They form few teams, one team visits the house and lure the voters with cash/kind benefits and in turn get the voters yes answer. Immediately next team visits the same house with divine ..... and get the oath saying they will vote for the same party.. This is the true reality.

It is usual trait of BJP Candidates, to collect the voter ID's and pushing them to take oath on deities.
With too much of black money at their disposal this is pretty easy. Unfortunately, our people think a candidate is great, if he happens to feed in temples once in a while. They forget the congress candidate , who helped them getting the food at their door step for daily meal.

Me being an atheist, many a time people ask me - ''what is the harm in being religious?''

This is one of the real-life examples.

    @Bewoulf,

Your findings are wrong Mr. Beowulf. They are not religious. They are just wearing religious masks for their personal benefits.

Regarding your affiliation for being atheist, just answer the following question-

    1. Which came to earth first? Chicken or Egg?. If chicken first, how can it be possible without an Egg? . If Egg first, how can it be possible without a Chicken. Either Chicken or Egg has been created by some Supreme Power. That is the "Creator of all that exists."

    2. First Law of Conservation of Energy states that " Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; So how Energy came to existence for the first time?. It is created by the "Creator of all that exists."

    3. Was there any incident anywhere in the world where rain water droplets combined together to form a very huge size which destroyed all on the earth when it reaches ground? Who separates them? It is the " Creator of all that exists in the Worlds"

    4. Who can create the exactly identical twins? You answer.

The BJP's have lost hope from humans because drinking alcohol, drugs, adultery, rapes & killing of human is forbidden in the holy books however, all these are carried out by their own leaders.

    They pronounce in the courts ನಾನು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಸತ್ಯದ ಹೊರತು ಬೇರೇನು ಹೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Hence they think oath will be the last resort.
