10,000 voter IDs in Bengaluru flat: Congress alleges BJP's role as photo goes viral

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (DC)

Bengaluru, May 9: In a twist to the case of nearly 10,000 voter id cards found in a flat located in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar, a photograph of alleged flat tenant Rakesh, who is son of a former BJP corporator has gone viral, raising suspicions of the role of BJP leaders in the case.

As many as 9,746 voter IDs were found in an apartment located in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Bengaluru. The BJP demanded that voting in the constituency be cancelled before the Karnataka election on Saturday. BJP alleged that the apartment was linked to a lawmaker of the ruling Congress. The Congress hit back accusing the BJP of enacting drama of raiding an apartment owned by a local BJP leader and planting 'fake evidence'.

According to reports, the flat belongs to a former BJP corporator. A photograph of Rakesh whom the BJP is claiming to be party leader's Manjula's adopted son with a BJP leader is going viral.

The spokesman of the Congress party Randeep Singh Surjewala alleged that the flat where the voter IDs were found belonged to a BJP leader.

"BJP enacted this drama in an apartment belonging to their own leader Manjula Nanjamari. She has rented the apartment to her son who contested the 2015 BBMP (Bengaluru civic body) elections on a BJP ticket. Apartment was raided not by police or EC but by BJP workers," Surjewala alleged at a press conference on the early hours of Wednesday here.

Sharing the photograph of the flat owner with a BJP candidate, the Congress tweeted: "This is the BJP MLA candidate Muniraj Gowda with BJP leader Rakesh, in whose flat the voter IDs were recovered. Election Commission has clearly said that Manjula Nanjamari had rented the flat to her son Rakesh. BJP's lies stand exposed:"

On the other hand, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) urged the poll panel to countermand the May 12 Assembly poll in the constituency, terming it a conspiracy by the ruling Congress to rig the election.

"The BJP demands countermanding of elections in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in light of latest revelations of tens of thousands of fake voter IDs and empty packets of hard currency. This is Congress conspiracy to rig election in the face of their imminent defeat," tweeted union human resource development minister and the party's in-charge for state polls Prakash Javadekar.

However, Sridhar Nanjamari, son of BJP leader Manjula Nanjamari, has said that the flat was rented to a person named Rangaraju and that Rakesh has no connection to the flat. "The flat was rented to Rangaraju, who pays rent for it every month. I am the only son of Manjula Nanjamari. Rakesh is my mother's nephew's son and he has got no connection with the flat in Park View apartment, as claimed in the media," he said.

Meanwhile, polls in Bengaluru constituency where 10,000 voter ID cards were found in a flat cannot be cancelled, Election Commission sources have said, calling the demand "far-fetched". "Voters can vote even without voter ID by showing other proof. So just because of 9,000 cards found in that flat doesn't warrant countermanding of polls," they said.

Where did they get the templates to print the voter id cards? Will Amit Shah and Narendra Modi please answer?
As the Congress rightly points out this is a "classic case of a pot calling the kettle black in a midnight drama"!
"The BJP first made a complaint to the Election Commission as a team of party workers found the ID
cards at the apartment in the Jalahalli ward of the Rajarajeshwarinagar constituency. The BJP
workers found this when they searched the Park View apartment."
Now how did these BJP workers know about the fake ID cards at the apartment and who authorised them to search the apartment? Do they have special powers to search peoples houses?
Well the answer is that the apartment belongs to a BJP leader and ex-corporator Manjula Najamari. She has rented it to her adopted son, who had contested the BBMP elections in 2015 and lost!
The BJP leadership, including Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, BS Yeddyurappa and Prakash Javadekar need to answer how fake voter IDs were being manufactured in their party workers apartment!!!

The Election Commission as usual appears helpless in curbing big expenditure, vicious campaigns and fake news in the run up to the Karnataka Assembly election scheduled for Saturday.

If one goes by the mainstream media, the result of the Karnataka election is already known. There is going to be a hung house and, as in Goa and Manipur, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is going to form the Government.
There is also a third, clear conclusion one can draw: The Election Commission is a lame duck. It has once again failed to curb or stop hate speech, communal polarising, role of money in influencing elections, misleading WhatsApp forwards and fake news.
The Commission has helplessly watched fake surveys being circulated with the BBC logo for credibility. It does not seem to have made much of an effort to trace the source and initiate proceedings against the perpetrators. It has been equally helpless in curbing distasteful speeches. No warning seems to have gone out this time from the Commission so far. And perhaps acknowledging the helplessness of the Commission, fewer complaints have been made by parties and candidates. Indeed, Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah has taken the somewhat unprecedented recourse of sending a lawyer’s notice to the Prime Minister for defamation.
In Indian democracy 'ballot boxes' in the past opened and counted in front of all party representatives.
    1. If government is spending on VVPAT and it is counted in closed doors where is the transparency?
    2. Why only 5% of the VVPAT is counted for 224 assembly constituencies of Karnataka?
    3. Why the missing EVM with serial numbers are not tracked so for by Election Commision of India?
    4. Why the there is huge discrepancies in the numbers between manufacture of EVM and deliveries?
    5. Is 'Microchip' installed is full proof from hacking? If not why their is lawsuit in US court against Manufacturer?
No matter who wins in Karnataka, the Election Commission would appear to have lost.
    Democracy at risk

    Ask Praksh Jawadekar the truth.
BJP is capable to buy votes and do any undemocratic process of election.
That why DAAKHU(Amith Shah) is so confident and boasting before the election in Karnataka that they are getting 50% vote share by 2019 !!!

E.C must hold simple & fair good old "Paper Ballot" process of voting which is true in today's manipulated technology era to rig anything for that matter.

It may certainly cost money and headship to the government eschequer but the dirty games of BJP for ever.

Not to repeat the past U.P - model and other rigged state elections.

Guys there are lot of ground reports of Feku party doing mischief with voter ids and then putting the blame on the Congress party. Also there are reports of Feku party goons in the guise of party workers who will threaten/bribe poll officers on poll day to forcibly vote for Feku party by pressing EVM button. When real voter arrives they are told they have already voted. Even if one explains there is no indelible ink mark on their finger they will get some rubbish/stupid explanation like for eg. ink may have been diluted, we can't say, we don't know, etc. etc. Stay alert and complain to higher authorities after finding out who the higher authorities are.
This particular case was to create a sensation by staging a drama to blame the Congress of cheating but BJP has badly failed and it back fired on them. BJP have the habit of spitting vertically upwards. This is the result.
