Mangaluru: 'Have not joined hands with Mohiuddin Bava' - Satyajit Suratkal rubbishes allegations

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (DC)

Mangaluru, May 9: Satyajit Suratkal, who was an aspirant of the BJP ticket from Mangaluru North constituency, on Wednesday May 9 rubbished allegations of bribery and hit out at those claiming he had joined hands with Congress MLA Mohiuddin Bava to defeat the BJP.

Addressing a press meet here, Satyajit said, "People who are against me are spreading false rumours. The allegations leveled against me that I have taken bribe from MRPL and ONGC contractors is far from truth. There are also allegations against me that I have taken money from sand dwellers which are false.

"I have involved myself in the activities of pro-Hindu organizations and I have a gunman from the last 11 years. I am not facing any murder or extortion charges or engaged in any illegal activities. I have been fighting to save the Hindu religion. Despite that, a case has been registered against me. I challenge the accusers to come forward and confront me face-to-face. This is nothing but a conspiracy to finish me," he said.

"I have decided to be neutral in the elections but I will continue to work for my religion. I have borrowed Rs 57 lac loan and I am building a new house by pledging my wife's gold. They say that I have joined hands with Congress MLA Mohiuddin Bava. If that was true, I would not have come to this situation where I have Rs 80-90 lac loan to repay," he added.

Satyajit Suratkal who was expecting BJP ticket from Mangaluru North, was left disappointed after the party decided to field Bharath Shetty from the constituency. Krishna J Palemar and Satyajit Suratkal had openly held MP Nalin Kumar Kateel responsible for denying a ticket. However, Satyajit had later said that he was not against the BJP.

BJP could have earned lot of respect by giving tickets to long term loyal party workers ! Instead they have set a bad example by entertaining party hoppers and tainted and corrupt politicians like Reddys!!

    People,

BJP made mistake in allotting tickets in 3 Constituencies in DK....Mangalore North...Mangalore South...Belthangady....this may effect results in other constituencies as well....If BJP looses these seats BJP should blame themselves...nobody else...

In Udupi District they fielded best candidates they have...

BJP and Yeddy have too much overconfidence that will come back and haunt them after election results...

I liked the comments of Ganesh, Udupi/Mangalore. Ganeshji don't you know politics is the last refuge of scoundrels? Why do people join politics? Why do they fight for getting tickets? For this very reason. Join politics, become a leader, get a ticket and then start gulummmmmmm.

All politicians irrespective of party, religious affiliated leaders, all are same. The workers will toil and some will face criminal cases and the leaders want to enjoy.

Request all workers to concentrate on themselves and their families. Then these so called leaders will disappear automatically.

Majority of the leaders are selfish to the core.

BJP hasn't declined tickets to so many of its former candidates but they have been used to garner votes from those who are undecided and sitting on the fence. These candidates are still on BJP payroll.

BJP has no moral right to question him as they have denied him ticket despite being loyal to the party for many years. It will hurt being sidelined for wrong reasons.

Sure he will not join hand with Moidheen bava as he was hardcore leader of pro hindu Org Hindu Jagarana Vedike..But sidelining Satyajith Suratkal like grass route party worker who gave his 35 years of struggling for party and BJP giving ticket to new face who is Jumped from JDS who is even unknown to most of the BJP workers will definitely help Congress to win with good margin in Manglore North Suratkal.
