Rahul Gandhi wraps up Bengaluru canvassing on high note

Bengaluru, May 10 (DHNS): Prayers at temples and dargahs, public meetings and tribute to Kannada film idol Dr Rajkumar were part of Rahul Gandhi's last leg of campaigning in the city on Wednesday.

The Congress president began the day by offering prayers at Dodda Ganapathi temple. On seeing a large number of Congress supporters gathering in the streets, he began an unscheduled roadshow in Basavanagudi.

On his way to BTM Layout, he stopped at Hosur Road to greet and seek the blessings of party supporters. After a brief interaction with garment factory workers in BTM Layout, he proceeded to Chickpet and Gandhinagar constituencies where a large crowd welcomed him showering flowers and draping shawls.

Gandhi cheered back by flinging shawls at them. He stopped over at the Dargah Hazrath Tawakkal Mastan at Majestic accompanied by sitting MLA Dinesh Gundu Rao.

Gandhi's campaigning was tailored around constituencies where the Congress has a bright chance of winning such as BTM Layout where Ramalinga Reddy is in the fray; Gandhinagar where Dinesh is contesting and Shivajinagar where Roshan Baig is the Congress candidate.

As he prepared to make a speech at Shivajinagar, people chanted Gandhi's name. Many climbed on to trees and rooftops to listen to him. After the meeting, he skipped his itinerary and made an unscheduled stop at Mavalli Tiffin Room (MTR) in La lbagh Road for lunch.

The hotel manager said Gandhi had regular meals and police informed him of Gandhi's visit just half an hour before his arrival.

Skips Indiranagar

Later, Gandhi went to Thippasandra to campaign for CV Raman Nagar Congress candidate R Sampath Raj. Residents of Indiranagar, who were eager to meet Gandhi, were left disappointed as the Congress leader skipped the area.

Continuing his temple hopping, Gandhi went to the Anjaneya temple in CV Raman Nagar.

After his final speech at Hebbal, Gandhi stopped at the Kanteerava Studio where he paid tributes to Dr Rajkumar. Throughout the day's campaigning, he was accompanied by Karnataka AICC in-charge K C Venugopal, Chickpet Congress candidate R V Devaraj and Energy Minister D K Shivaku mar. Gandhi will end his campaign in Hubballi on Thursday.

On Hosur Road, garment workers asked him what the government has done to protect their jobs in the wake of several factories shutting shop. "The Modi government is focusing on just 10-15% of the country's rich people to grow and has ignored everyone else," Gandhi told them.

Gandhi also assured the workers the Congress government will provide free bus passes for their children within the 60 km of commuting distance if voted back to power.

Imagine what would have happened if it was Modi in the place of Rahul in that temple where archaka/priest taking his pic.

I ll tell you exactly how he ll be - When modi in conversation with main priest suddenly deputy preist clicking pics his face full 360degree would have glued to that camera for a pose, after that if main priest speak to him, others near him speak to him,he ll not care at all. When its camera,Modi is camera electrified YOU LL SEE HIM IN MANY PLACES WHEN CAMERA IS ON MODI KA LOGON SE GYAN GONE..THIS PSYCHOLOGY CLEARLY SAYS HE IS VERY MATERIALISTIC.VERY POOR PERFORMANCE ON HUMANITY GROUNDS.

NOW SEE RAHUL ,HE IS BUSY SPEAKING TO PRIEST ,THIS IS WHAT WE NEED PEOPLE LIKEHIM .HE VALUES HUMANS -BE IT PRIEST,FARMER,SHOPKEEPERS,LABOURERS OR CORPORATORS.

Irrespective of the outside Karnataka dismal performance of states, truth is Siddu has well managed to give Karnataka a full time stable government after 40 years.
The situation within Karnataka is far far better than any other states in the North.
With good stability, No. 1 position within India in many fields, is there any need for the people to change the current government in Karnataka, irrespective of who rules at the Centre. Save Karnataka for Kannadigas.

Sorry, but what qualifications does Rahul Gandhi have to become the PM? Aren’t there much more qualified and able-bodied men / women in Congress party to take on Modi in 2019? India is not a constitutional monarchy that you expect Rahul Gandhi to have an automatic claim to the PMO?

He was born with a silver spoon; always lived in Government provided accommodation; never had to stand in line for anything; and never had to work even one day of his life to earn one square meal. And despite losing every election under his command (other than Punjab), he is elevated to be the party president. GOD, what injustice have I done in life that I do not get to lead the life of Rahul Gandhi??

Rajiv Gandhi became the PM simply because he was Indira’s son, even though Pranab Mukherjee was the most deserving one. And now you are saying that Rahul is the next PM, simply because he is Rajiv’s son. What is the logic?

Please explain the merits of Rahul Gandhi? Do not give me the negatives of Modi / BJP as justification.

What we need is a peaceful karnataka where the people can go about and do their usual business without fear of each other.Only CM Siddaramaiah can do that .Bjp will divide the people and ensure a rapidly communal atmosphere as is being done in UP and other bjp states. The people should vote wisely to safeguard their next generation future

How does Rahul qualify to be a PM candidate? Could you give me five good reasons?

I am not seeking the negatives of BJP / Modi as the answer; but rather the merits of Rahul (not Congress party) as PM candidate.

    same way:
Modi became - he sold chai - yet aspired to be CM,Pm, his administration in Gujarat was atrocious people were murdered during his regime, he was on the banned list of countries, his fake talks like 15 lakhs into each account ... never came .... yet he qualified. NO ONE KNOWS HIS QUALIFICATION, he never lived with his lawful wife .... YET HE BECAME THE PM OF INDIA. I do not belong to any party because i am living out of India. My counter to you is that ... if a person of Modi's background can become a PM, a Gandhi with life-sacrifices made from the family, fought for independence (None from RSS), lived in a political environment right from birth.... can qualify him to be a PM. Afterall, no PM conducts business by himself, he is guided by his advisors and secretaries. Same way Rahul can also have his Coterie of advisors.

    1. He is straight forward (no uturns and cheapness like Feku)
    2. He is civilized and doesnt use derogatory language (Feku expert in making derogatory speech)
    3. He is young and can understand the youth. (Feku has let down the youth)
    4. He is grown in a political family so has a background in politics.(unlike the inexperience show by fekuji in running the govt.)
    5. As we can see he doesnt take every decision without consulting experts and doesnt want to act like a super hero (unlike super hero feku.)
    6. And one bonus point for you.. he is not a FEKU

If u need more points please let me know

Ediboy. I have a question, If all what you said were true-

    1. Why did Cong reduce to a humliating 44 ?
2 .and subsequently lose state after state, 22 states in total ?
    3. If RG was soo good as you say, why did he lost 32 elections?
    4. even then why is he the president of the party when there were many experienced seniors around?

    Rajesh Hegde, Mangalore..
when there were so many seasoned politicians in BJP why was Modi Projected as PM candidate?
How may Elections have BJP been defeated fair and square before 2014? Dont be in the inception that BJP was launched in 2014. We know how many times u have eaten dust. Rahul Gandhi has excepted his defeat on face and addressed media everytime. Where was Modi when he lost Bihar and Delhi?
When congress got 44 seats it was 2014. They deserved it and people gave their complete mandate to BJP. And what was BJPs best policy for the people? Demonetization..
Now Rahul is on the right track to lead congress and be thankful that Modi talks all sh*t about Rahul but still Rahul has not told him anything. And we need people to run the country not win election. So please inform Modiji when u meet himnext time to spend some time in New Delhi to run the country
