Mangaluru: Attack on people travelling by car at Bondel - four arrested

Mangaluru, May 11: In connection with attacking of people travelling by car by a gang on frivolous pretext, police personnel of Kankanady town police station have arrested four persons. The arrested persons happen to be Deekshit (19) from Bondel, Abhishek (21) from Kavoor here, Hemanth Rai (22), resident of Kunjathbail, and Nikit Poojary (20) from Kavoor Palnir. Another accused, Raju Kunjathbail, is absconding.

On being produced in the court here, all the four were remanded to two weeks of judicial custody.

As per reports, Adil Vouch (25), and his friends, Salman, Shaan and Akshar, were travelling by a car at 11 pm on May 6 when Akshar got a phone call from an unidentified person. The person on the other end was speaking in Tulu. Adil, who spoke on the phone, was abused and challenged to come to Bondel. The friends then went to Bondel in a car and a motor bike.A five member-gang intercepted the car and tried to attack those inside the car. Adil, who was taken aback, turned the car and was returning when the accused chased him. The car driven by Adil then hit the road divider near a hotel at Padavinangady, it is said.

The gang then came near the car, and rained abuses at the people. Overtaken by fear because of aggressive behaviour, Salman and Shaan ran away. A member of the gang hit Adil with a weapon in the head, while another struck his right hand with an iron rod. As others also joined in hitting him, he suffered serious injuries to his head. He was admitted into a private hospital here. Based on complaint naming five persons, the police could arrest four.

    Where is that borewell teaching culture and sanskruthi!!????? Useless lot!! Still there are plenty of blind to support such goondaism! Hope the renewed state government will plug them all at the source!!! Catch every such group and put them in prison for couple of years without bail and then see there will be total peace in Mangalore!! Immoral rowdies are root cause for all the unrest in city! There are burning politicians to support them without any doubt!!!
