Riyadh, May 18: Dakshina Karnataka Muslim Okkoota (DKMO), Riyadh held its annual general body meeting here at Ramada Hotel Batha recently.
The meeting commenced with recitation of Quran by P A Mohiyuddin Zuhri.
The master of ceremony Abdur Rahiman Sulaiman Uchil welcomed all with Islamic greeting and invited the chief guest Dr Shafiq, King Saudi University, Riyadh and distinguished guest Akhtar Shaikh Ameer NRCC JF, and other office bearers Abdul Aziz Bajpe president and Mohammed Asif, general scretary to the dais. Abdul Azeez Bajpe presided over the function.
Through the presentation of an annual report and financial report, DKMO vice-president Fazlurrahman briefed to the audience about the achievements and future plans of the committee.
Chief guest of the day, Dr Shafiq summoned the strategical insights of an organization and enlightened the value of being in harmony to outcome social difficulties.
Other honored chief guest Akthar Shaikh applauded DKMO’s activities and motivated the members and audience to endeavor to accomplish the plans.
President Abdul Azeez Bajpe in his address appreciated and thanked all the members and the committee executives for their support during his tenure.
Articulating on FRF (Family Relief Fund) scheme, the president appreciated the members’ response on collecting fund for FRF cases. As DKMO decided to give minimum of Rs 3 lac Indian rupees to the family of deceased NRI member, all members agreed to contribute minimum of 50 Saudi Riyals as a support to every FRF case. In future, DKMO is further hoping to support with greater extent. So he encouraged all the attendees to get more and more members to join and support DKMO.
Focusing on the future activities of DKMO, president assured to allocate a budget for micro loan in India which will help the poor and needy in India.
Other major objectives like air tickets to stranded NRI’s, emergency relief fund, financial support to NRI members through loan and anti-dowry campaigns will be major outlines of DKMO which will continue without any changes.
As a part of felicitation, DKMO honored Shamsuddin Addoor and Fazlur Rahman for their vital contribution in membership campaign.
The president then dissolved the existing committee and called Abdul Hameed Wenz and Dawood Kajamar to conduct the elections. Members were asked to voluntarily join the new committee and lend a hand in carrying out the noble task. An astounding 33 members joined the new committee.
The meeting was well attended by over 150 members, who represented most of the taluks of South Karnataka. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Haneef N S and followed by sumptuous lunch for all the attendees.
