Bengaluru, May 23: Sources revealed that BJP state president, B S Yeddyurappa, has decided to function as leader of the opposition in the state assembly and vacate the position of the state BJP president that he currently holds.
Aravind Limbavali, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Prahlad Joshi, Bhagwant Khooba, Shobha Karandlaje and C T Ravi are being considered by the party leadership for replacing Yeddyurappa as state president of the party, sources said.
There is a feeling that a candidate who can effectively coordinate between legislative party and the party organization would be best suited for the position. If this issue is considered, Aravind Limbavali or Prahlad Joshi may be chosen for the post being vacated by Yeddyurappa.
The choice of the person might also depend on who would be made president of Congress and JD(S) respectively in place of Parameshwar and Kumaraswamy. If Shivakumar becomes Congress state president and JD(S) leadership also goes in for an aggressive leader, BJP might choose C T Ravi as the state president. Although names of MPs, Shobha Karandlaje and Nalin Kumar Kateel are also being coined, their chances of making the grade are remote.
