Any politician going and asking blessings from any religious head or religious place is his/her personal matter. But religious people inter fearing in politics is very bad and specially giving statement about the politicians, creates communal differences . One can talk good about his religion but not bad about others. If you don't want respect any other religion then also please don't disrespect.

Pictures show the gesture of what Mangalore was once upon a time. But today due to various reasons our Mangalore is broken. I hope this man can bring that peace and Unity back. After elections we normally don't see this gratitude in politicians. Mr. Kamath if you continue to keep all Mangalorean's in your confidence I am sure everyone will love you and support you through out your political career. If you really intend to work for all category of people with harmony, I am sure all caste, religion, political party supporters will vote for you for ever. Now its up to you and your governance in the days to come.

MLA Kamath has to form a committee with leaders of different communities, the police and administration in Mangalore and put an end to the menace of moral policing in our city. The incidents over the past few years have brought a very bad name to Mangalore. Anyone caught for moral policing should be named and shamed and they should be booked under the anti goonda act. Also neighbourhood groups with members from each community should be formed to watch for troublemakers and those fomenting trouble and promptly inform the police. This will bring back sanity to our city.

Unfortunately most of our people still need to understand the difference between genuine concern/actions and token gestures/lip service. This is how politicians fool us over and over again. Last 4 years is not enough it seems.

From my Childhood I have seen, Konkani's and Christians feel closer to each other due to the language. That apart, this gesture is commendable. A significant part of Mangalore is highly educated and they see through the designs of political slogans which gains decibels during elections. Now that elections are over, Sanity has prevailed.
The cream of Mangalore graduate from these very institutions and without doubt they deserve the respect for laying foundation of a mature society.

Nice gesture from the newly elected MLA Mr. Vedvyas Kamath. I would also suggest Mr Kamath to reach out to Muslims too. If only development work would be to restore the old communal harmony of Mangalore when we took pride ourselves as Mangaloreans rather than Hindus, Muslims and Christians would be good enough.

If you do good and be good with the people of all religion is most important. We don't want that MP or MLA who are born to burn the city.

Mr. Kamath came to seek blessings from our religious leaders towards the development and the communal harmony. Its a good gesture of this gentleman. And about seeking votes on religious grounds, its common in all the politicians as they have to do every effort to gain the power. I feel its our duty to welcome and support such elected leaders with good intentions.

Politics is al about perception and bhagwa kurta or shirt should give you a hint!!!! By the time people realise the mistake they did by voting in communal fellows to power, i hope it is not too late.

It just shows how these immoral and greedy politicians divide people in the name of religeon and after winning do the same thing they accused their Congress opponents of doing. Wait for 2019 for the same vote begging in the name of religeon natak to start again for their dear 'DK district ko aag laga doonga' MP!!!!

All my Catholic friends, Like Kamath and many from GSB community, we were separated by some circumstances and situations, few hundred years ago, for not fault of ours. In the present context, when we have something to celebrate and unite, lets not lose the opportunity.
Th same applies to the Muslim friends too.

This is purely a political strategy. Look Capt Ganesh Karnik who is a candidate for teacher's constituency that is going for poll on June 8. Sizeable Christians have registered their names in the teacher's and Graduate constituency.

By this gesture Vedavyasa has proved that he is a better person than Ganesh Karnik generally exhibited arrogance and also claimed 60% police force are sanghi's. Though Vedavyasa asked for votes for hinduthwa survival, his claim of being representative of all community is praiseworthy. Hope he will plug the moral police menace of Mangalore thriving under sanghi clutches! Hope he will continue the extremely exemplary work and law and order control of JR Lobo!

MLA Vedavyas Kamath your visit to Bishop is good. Keep in mind that Bishop will never involve in politics or casteism. Bishop is a religious leader for the community who has faith in God and follow the path. Bishop will never encourage or support to follow his faith but what he asked to follow God's will.

Now let us come to our point that if you visited in a good heart and soul then its fine. But if you had some political issue and show-up in mind, then it is better to keep away from to meet any religious leaders.

    Thank You.
