Bengaluru, May 24: Newly appointed Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy advised Bharathiya Janata Party leaders not to waste time criticizing the JD(S)-Congress coalition.
The BJP had declared May 23, Kumaraswamy’s oath ceremony day, as ‘black day’ and held protests state-wide. They called the coalition ‘unholy’ and termed Kumaraswamy as ‘opportunist’. Even Former CM B S Yeddyurappa came down to streets to protest against the coalition.
Responding to the protests, Kumaraswamy told reporters in Bengaluru that BJP spends time only in criticizing and it is time they stop.
Kumaraswamy who had promised on waiving farm loans in his manifesto said it was still his top priority. “I will announce the loan waiver soon after discussing it with Congress,” he assured.
Earlier in the day, Kumaraswamy sought blessings of Pattanayakanahalli Nanjadhoota Swami and then visited Adichunchanagiri Math and Siddaganga Math in Tumakuru.
He then met his father H D Deve Gowda, who advised him on taking Karnataka on the developmental path.
