Mangaluru: Police arrest eight bike thieves including five PU students

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, May 27: The police, who were frustrated by a series of motor bike thefts happening of late, finally succeeded in arresting a gang of eight bike thieves. Surprisingly, five of the thieves are PU students aged between 16 and 18.

A car and three motor bikes were taken into custody from the arrested persons. The police hope to seize around 20 vehicles from them in course of time. All the five students are from Kerala, sources stated.

The district police had received over 25 complaints about theft of vehicles from the spots where they were parked during the last three months. The arrested thieves reportedly confessed that they learnt the art of unlocking motor bikes by seeing a video on Youtube.

A police team led by inspector, Yogish, working under the guidance of city police commissioner, Vipul Kumar, deputy commissioners of police and assistant commissioner of police, made these arrests.

True ,these people are everywhere like ants.wouldnt say anything if they were not criminals or cheaters, now bike goons.Sad that we cant build a wall between our state and them.If possible .I would certainly come and lay the first stone.call their parents and ask why did they finanze their bikes,or (Theft)Throw them inside and heavy fine should be confined.Useless teenies.

High standard of life and spending for luxuries makes the students to get into the mode of making easy money which is quite unfortunate and dangerous trend indeed.

Yes…. We are always having problem with these neighbours everywhere in Karnataka especially in Mangalore region…. You say whatever you want…. Though we fight & write with bitter words sometime but our coastal people are thousand time better than anybody else…. Humanity is still taking birth & living in our region only…. That’s why these people come to our region and create problem for everyone by taking our innocent peoples kind courtesy and advantage. We suffered many times but still our people invite them whole heartedly by forgiving them very soon

    Point to be noted.
Not only during the swearing ceremony even before the swearing-during the campaign many a poison was spilled in our peace loving state and Dakshina Kannada district in particular.
