Shivamogga, May 29: Hackers have turned their eyes on Kuvempu University, the prestigious university of Malnad. It came to light on Monday, May 28 that the miscreants not only hacked the website but also wrote 'Pakistan Zindabad' on its home page.

The incident caused panic among the university administrative authorities.

There is a possibility that the official website of the university was hacked on the night of Sunday, May 27. The students and staff were in for a shock when they opened the website on the morning of Monday, May 28. The matter was immediately brought to the notice of Prof Jogan Shankar, chancellor of the university.

The technical staff of the university restored the website by afternoon and now it is functioning normally.

Prof Jogan Shankar giving information on this matter said, "The website of the university was hacked. It was alright on Sunday night. However, on Monday morning it came to light that the website was hacked. Immediately our technical experts restored the same. We have registered a complaint in this regard with the Shivamogga police."

Sources said that the website was reportedly hacked by a well-known Pakistan-based hacker Hunter Bajwa. His team has allegedly hacked hundreds of Indian website over the years. Bajwa's Facebook page claims his team has hacked 530 Indian websites so far.

I wonder whether Pakistanis actually know about this Kuvempu University. I also don't think they are aware of the recent vote, trust vote and another trust vote along with walkout in Karnataka.

Cobrapost Operation 136 will tell you who might be behind it. Why blame Pakistan on a University hack which is kind of emotional name for some Kannadigas because of Kuvempu, but this university no where as famous as other Indian Universities. Is someone trying to make this an emotional issue for Kannadigas?
