Bochum's Stoeger joins promoted Dusseldorf

Berlin, May 29 (IANS): Fotuna Dusseldorf have completed their fourth summer transfer after signing Kevin Stoeger from lower league side Bochum, both clubs confirmed.

Newly promoted Dusseldorf reinforced their side with midfielder Kevin Stoeger on Monday, who has put pen to paper on a deal until summer 2020, reports Efe.

"We get a technically strong footballer, who was one of the best midfielder in the second division last season. Despite his young age, Kevin can already draw on experience from over 100 professional matches," Dusseldorf head coach Friedhelm Funkel said.

The 24-year-old Austrian played two years for Bochum where he made 37 competitive appearances to provide five goals and eight assists.

"I am very delighted that I can play for Dusseldorf in the Bundesliga next season. This is the next and right step for my career. I hope I can help the team with my skills," Stoeger said.

His new club completed the season 2017/18 on the first place of the Bundesliga 2 standings and secured their promotion to play their 24th season in Germany's top flight.
