Not even a day's coal stock in power plants: Delhi government


New Delhi, May 30 (IANS): The total coal available in four thermal power plants in NCR was less than the required amount for a day's power generation at full capacity, according to data made public on late Tuesday by the Delhi government.

According to the data, 56,000 MT of coal was needed to run the four power plants at full power, but only 52,513 MT of coal was available as on Monday.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the coal shortage.

Delhi Power Minister Satyendar Jain had raised the issue last week and also on Monday.
