After fuel price hike, now LPG cylinders to be costlier from Friday

New Delhi, Jun 1 (Zee News): After the hike in petrol and diesel prices, the cost of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) was also increased on Friday by Rs 2.34 and Rs 48 for subsidised and non-subsidised cylinders respectively. The new price for subsidised (Rs/14.2 Kg) cylinder in Delhi is Rs 493.55, while that of non-subsidised cylinder is Rs 698.50.

Besides Delhi, the new rates for subsidised cylinder are Rs 496.65 in Kolkata, Rs 491.31 in Mumbai and Rs 481.84 in Chennai respectively. Meanwhile, the new prices for non-subsidised cylinder are Rs 723.50 in Kolkata, Rs 671.50 in Mumbai and Rs 712.50 in Chennai.

The moves comes amid heat over the rising petrol prices across the country. The fuel prices were on Friday reduced marginally for the third day after it remained high for 16 consecutive days. On Friday, petrol prices were cut by 6 paise and diesel prices by 5 paise per litre. In Delhi, petrol now costs Rs 78.29 per litre, while diesel price has been revised to Rs 69.20 a litre.

The oil companies had on Thursday cut the prices by 7 paise per litre for petrol and 5 paise per litre for diesel. It came after a day of confusion when it was announced that fuel prices were slashed by 60 paise per litre but was later corrected to 1 paise.

On Wednesday morning, there was an announcement about petrol prices going down by 60 paise in Delhi and 59 paise in Mumbai, and diesel prices going down by 56 paise in Delhi and 59 paise in Mumbai, it was later clarified by the Indian Oil Corporation that the reduction was of merely 1 paisa per litre.

Earlier in May, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas had refuted reports of alleged hike in LPG price in the recent months. In a statement, the ministry had said that there has rather been a fall of around Rs 100 in the retail selling price of non-subsidized price LPG price.

Every household in India is entitled to 12 LPG cylinders per year at a subsidised rate. However, LPG cylinders bought beyond the prescribed number has to be purchased at market prices which are known as non-subsidised LPG rates.

    Another famous tweet by Bachchan had read, " रामचंद्र कह गए सिया से , ऐसा कलयुग आएगा ,

    An otherwise apolitical Akshay Kumar too was quick to throw his weight behind the fake BJP narrative. His one tweet (now deleted) had read, “Guys, I think it’s time to clean up your bicycles and hit the road! As per sources, expecting another petrol price hike.”
    On another occasion, Kumar had tweeted, “Couldn’t even get to my house at nite for all of Mumbai was queueing up for #petrol before the prices rocketed again.” He has not deleted this tweet, perhaps to avoid more embarrassment on social media.

    Akshay Kumar who enjoys Canadian citizenship who own his private Jet like Big B Bachchan know became ‘deaf and dumb’ and know deleting old tweets on petrol and diesel prices.

    Why Amitabh Bachan don't buy liter of petrol and burn his expensive imported four wheel drive to protest the highest petrol rate in 70 years?
    Why don't Kumar sell is car and take on cycle?

    Bhakts are blind.. no matter how clear the situation is they still prefer to be blind.. Most celebrities are opportunists, they turn their backside the direction the wind blows... Then there are the fence sitters who know whats happening is not right, but their ego surpasses everything and they will not want to accept the fact that their judgement on this Feku Government was flawed and these fence sitters will continue to be the blind bakths ..

    The prices of the essential fuels have reached a record high even when the price of crude oil in the International market is relatively cheaper.

    In 2014, the Congress-led UPA government was also facing similar flak. Among those who actively blamed it for the rise in fuel prices, was Prakash Javdekar (presently, Union minister in BJP government).

    Now, an old video of Javdekar criticising ‘central government’ on fuel price hike has gone viral. In the video, Javdekar is seen challenging central government of that time, UPA, on fuel price hike when crude oil price in international market has been low.

    He said, “The increase in petrol prices by the government has no basis to it. On the same day, the prices have fallen in the International market. We challenge the government, fully refined petrol can be sold at Rs 34 in Delhi, Rs 36 in Mumbai, then why is it double the price? This is a robbery and the increased prices should immediately be withdrawn.”

    Lately, people have been reeling under record petrol prices. In the 16 consecutive increases since 14 May, petrol price was hiked by Rs 3.8 per litre and diesel by Rs 3.38.

    Ever since the Karnataka elections are over the central ministers are looking for a long term solution for for hikes in petroleum products. More than 2 weeks are over, they could not locate any solution. Still searching.
    Great ! Yesterday they found one solution of 1 paisa per litre.

    Sri elder Rs 2/- May not be a big amount to you. But the people know how that amount is. It’s difficult to get work , no business people are suffering. May be you may have money which you have earned illegally. Otherwise you would not have said Rs 2/- a negiable amount. Where is smiriti Irani and Sumshs Swaraj . When UPA govt hiked the price of Gas both of them started crying. Where are they gone underground. This is Achae Din for the people of India.
