Panaji, Sep 16: International Coastal Clean-up day is being organized and coordinated on 20 September 2008. Indian Coast Guard Headquaters Goa area will be the main coordinator for the event at Goa.
Coast Guard personnel with their families, school children, personnel from central state government organizatons, five star hotels, NGO`s and volunteers will be participating in the event being conducted at all major beaches of Goa from 20th September.
All volunteers, nature lovers and all who concerns for environment may join hands with the co-ordinators at the nearest beach. All five star hotels situated on the sea shore have been requested to clean and co ordinated beaches close to these hotels.
The hotels have shown prompt response and willingness to participate in the noble cause. The major beaches being covered are – Miramar, Caranzalem, Candolim, Baga and Calangute in the North Goa. Utorda, Majorda, Colva, Arossim and Mobor in the South Goa. The cooperation from local panchayats and Muncipal cooperations is being sought to make the event a success.
