Marginal drop in fuel prices for sixth consecutive day

New Delhi, Jun 4 (India Today): State-run oil marketing firms marginally lowered petrol prices for a sixth consecutive day on Monday under the dynamic pricing regime although the rates continue to rule at unprecedented levels after daily price changes were resumed following a 20-day suspension of the system last month owing to the Karnataka elections.

According to Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) petrol per litre on Monday cost Rs 77.96, down from Rs 78.11 on Sunday in Delhi.

Similarly, in Mumbai and Kolkata, petrol prices were at Rs 85.77 and Rs 80.60 a litre respectively, while in Chennai petrol fell by ten paise on Sunday to Rs 80.94 per litre.

Diesel prices too changed marginally on Monday. In Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, the fuel sold for Rs 68.97, Rs 71.52, Rs 73.43 and Rs 72.82 per litre, respectively.

Lower global crude oil cost, along with a strengthened rupee, has pulled down the prices of transportation fuels since May 30.

On Saturday, Brent crude oil prices slipped to around $76 per barrel from $77 a barrel as global supply concerns eased. A decline in global crude oil prices in turn lowered the cost of refined products like gasoline or petrol.

The recent surge in the prices of key transportation fuels was attributed to a rise in crude oil cost, which rose till last week, and the high excise duties levied on the fuel in the country.

    when they increase price it's like 2 rupees, 4 rupees and when they want to reduce price only in paisa wise.
    how funny, during sixth consecutive day drop in fuel price it's not even reduced to 1 rupee as well and if they want to increase they will increase twice in a day and that too more than a rupee each time.
    when you ask chaiwala and chaukidar to rule the country this is what will happen, he can give you only idea on pakados and what else???
