Amit Shah meets Ramdev as part of BJP's 'contact for support' campaign

New Delhi, Jun 4 (PTI): BJP president Amit Shah today met Yoga guru Ramdev, who is associated with the Patanjali group of companies, as part of his party's "contact for support" campaign and shared the Modi government's achievements with him.

"I met yoga guru Swami Ramdev as part of 'Sampark for Samarthan' programme and informed him about the Narendra Modi-led government's achievements and public welfare policies in its four years of rule," Shah tweeted.

Following its government's fourth anniversary on May 26, the BJP launched a mega public drive -- 'sampark for samarthan', announcing that its 4,000 functionaries will contact one lakh people, who are well-known names in their fields, to spread the word about its works in its tenure.

Shah will himself contact 50 persons, the party had said.

Launching the exercise, he had met former Army chief Dalbir Singh Suhag and Subhash Kashyap on May 29. He also met cricket legend Kapil Dev later.

Shah had earlier said that the campaign was aimed at informing people about various government initiatives, which have resulted in lifting people's living standards as a lot of work had been done to remove the problems people faced in villages and to help the poor live a better life.

I hope the people who canvassed for BJP in 2014 that includes Ramdev, Sri Sri Ravi Shanker and many others should throw tomatoes on them as they promised to bring back black money, ensured Acche din, bring down petrol price and reduce corruption. From 2014 they themselves have benefited from the government for canvassing for BJP in 2014. Time to throw them out for good as they are liars and Jumla.

bjp won the 2014 election with the support of Hindu gurus and financial supports of adani and ambani. few of their gurus are behind bar for rape and murder. now they want tie up with old celebrities for 2019 election which may not fetch good result for them. Need of the hour for any political parties who want win 2019 election should take up the issues concerned with common people of this country. like employment ,farmers problems, closure of indigenous small scale industries , retail business for whom business effected adversely because direct entry of MNC's and through malls other methods which effected small shop owners, problems of women specially increasing rape case few of them done by bjp MLAs.

It is important to DW readers to recall this :

    Quote
    (1)
A petition challenging allotment of more than 4,000 acres of land to Baba Ramdev's Patanjali Yog Sansthan in Noida in Uttar Pradesh today came up for hearing before the Allahabad High Court.

    (2)
Earlier, IAS officer Bijay Kumar was shunted from the finance department shortly after he questioned the basis of a 75% discount for a land awarded to Patanjali Ayurveda Ltd.

    (3)
Narendra Modi leaned to whisper in the ear of the man sitting cross-legged and barefoot next to him, the one clad in saffron robes with a long beard and squinty gaze. It was late in the afternoon of March 23, 2014 in New Delhi and the start of national elections was a fortnight away.

A few minutes later, the yoga guru and entrepreneur known as Baba Ramdev turned to a microphone and urged the crowd before him to mobilize votes for Modi: "You'll make other people understand, won't you? You won't sit at home, will you?" The crowd roared back, "No!"

    (4)
Since Modi came to power, Ramdev's company has received more than an estimated $46 million in discounts for land acquisitions in states controlled by the BJP, according to a Reuters review of state government documents, interviews with officials and real estate estimates.

Now readers, don't you all think Shah's visit to the squinting Guru is naturally overdue ? All this information is taken from social media, not my fabrication.

Well 'Motha-Bhai', we don't want explanation/reason for your visiting the 'Salwar Khameez' Guru.
