Dubai, Sep 17: 'Omzoorche Dive', an association of Omzoor parishioners celebrated Monti Fest here recently at ‘Sivester Bhavan’ in Karama, Dubai.

The programme began in the evening with little children  offering flowers to Mother Mary to the tune of 'Moriyek Hogolsiyaa'. Guest of honour Fr William Albuquerque, blessed the new corn and talked about the importance of the festival.  Steven, Metilda, Ashita, Lary Jaison, and Jyothi, performed a group dance, while Joysten D'Souza performed a solo dance.

Arthur D'Souza and Rony Lobo sang some popular Konkani songs alongwith Joysten D'Souza, Prashant D'Silva, Alan Pereira, Shalet Pereira, and Joseph D'Souza, which soon had the crowd on the dance floor. Later, while comedians told jokes, George Menezes conducted 'Housie'.

During the course of the evening, Arthur Periera, read out an acknowledgement letter, sent by the headmistress of St Joseph's Higher Primary School, for the donation of books and uniforms for about 90 children of the school. Music was arranged by Rony Lobo and sound by Lancy D'Souza. Arthur D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Well-known Konkani and Kannada writer, Arthur Pereira, compered the entire event in his unique style.
