Bengaluru, Jun 8: A fifth standard student at the community school run by the Indus International School in Sarjapur, died of brain tumor here on June 7.
Vyshali (13) daughter of Suguna, a flower vendor on a footpath in Madiwala is the deceased.
The incident occurred on Thursday when friends of Vyshali saw her lying motionless on her bunker bed with froth coming out of her mouth. On the previous day, she had complained of headache to her friends and went to bed around 2am. She had complained about headache over a period of time and was even taking treatment for her ailment.
Immediately she was taken to a nearby hospital but the doctors declared her brought dead. The body was sent to Oxford Medical College hospital for autopsy.
Superintendent of Police, Anekal, Bengaluru rural, Bheemashankar Guled said, "The post-mortem report confirmed that she was suffering from brain tumor which ruptured to cause internal bleeding and eventually resulted in her death.”
Her mother was not aware of her ailment and her father had deserted the family long ago. She was studying at Indus International School, which runs a community schooling programme, adopts underprivileged children like Vyshali and imparts free education along with boarding and lodging.
A case of unnatural death has been registered by the Sarjapur police and further investigation is on.
