Petrol, diesel prices dip for 10th day in a row

New Delhi, Jun 8 (India Today): Petrol and diesel prices have dipped again, for the tenth day in a row. Petrol prices in Delhi fell by 21 paise to Rs. 77.42 per litre on Friday. Diesel prices also decreased by 15 paise to Rs. 68.58 per litre in Delhi.

Across other metro cities, petrol dipped to Rs. 80.07 in Kolkata, Rs. 85.24 in Mumbai, and Rs. 80.37 in Chennai.

Diesel, on the other hand, is selling at Rs. 73.02 in Mumbai, 15 paise less from day before. In Kolkata and Chennai, prices per litre fell to Rs. 71.13 and Rs. 72.40. (These prices are according to the Indian Oil Corporation; prices may vary at bunks of other companies by a few paise).

The ten days of continuous dip in fuel prices comes as a minor relief since rates were hiked constantly for a period of 16 days. The global hike in crude prices led to soaring petrol and diesel prices.

The 16-day price surge had put the government under pressure to reduce excise duties on energy products. Petrol is subject to an excise duty of Rs. 19.48 per litre while diesel Rs. 15.33 a litre.

    Once upon a time every drop of fuel used to burn vehicle engines but now every drop of it burning us, when world paying half, we are paying double....Even if this is governance, then my Nandu Paan wala can be better Prime Minsiter, chuna lagane me expert hai

    Remember 2014 - when BJP was in opposition and said fuel price hike was a result of bad economic policies? Remember when they promised to check price rise? So why then the #FuelLootBySuitBoot ?

    Petrol prices are higher now because the BJP is giving suddh petrol mixed with Gangajal and Gau Mutra while the Congress gave us adulterated petrol without any boosters.
    Har Har Modi🚩🚩
    We're waiting for Modi Govt to claim credit for giving India its highest ever fuel prices. #FuelLootBySuitBoot
    It is time to remind PM Modi and BJP of his own twitter troll;
    Massive hike in #petrol prices is a prime example of the failure of Congress-led UPA. This will put a burden of hundreds of crores on Guj. 7:54 AM - 23 May 2012 Narendara Modi

    One person earning may not work in the future. Makes sense if maximum earning members are employed in the family. If we want to see India amongst the developed countries. Pick up English and move ahead. Learn Kannada at home..no point blaming Modi/ JDS/ Congress.

    They are first filling the kitty of government and petro companies to such an extent that, then till the next general election they will drop in meagre Paisa that the drop will not add up to few rupees!. Except people, nobody will lose because it will be hardly 5% reduction in their overflowing kitty!. So bakhts will keep on praising government for reduction and people will eat pakoda!
