Mob torches alleged army spy's house in J&K

Srinagar, Jun 12 (IANS): A mob on Tuesday set on fire the house of a civilian in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district for allegedly working as an informer for the Army, police sources said.

"Timely intervention by fire fighting personnel helped douse the flames although the house and some adjacent shops were partially damaged," the source said.

The civilian, Kifayat Mir, had earlier been caught and stripped by militants who claimed to have recorded his confessional video, residents said.
