Mangaluru: Munnur gram panchayat officer ends life, seeks govt job for wife in death note

Mangaluru, Jun 13: A gram panchayat official allegedly committed suicide in the Munnur panchayat office premises here on Wednesday June 13.

Krishnaswamy (47), panchayat development officer (PDO) of Munnur gram panchayat was found hanging in the toilet of the panchayat office on Wednesday.

He left behind a death note in which he reported stated that he alone was responsible for his death. In the note, he also urged the government to provide a job to his wife so that she can look after their only daughter.

The reason for taking the extreme step is not yet known.

Ullal police have registered a case.
