Jamshedpur FC sign defender Dhanachandra


Jamshedpur, Jun 14 (IANS): Jamshedpur FC on Thursday announced the signing of defender Dhanachandra Singh in a one-year deal.

Born in Manipur, Dhanachandra has won the Indian Super League twice with Chennayin FC.

Dhanachandra is primarily left-footed and can play both as a left back and a centre back and has represented clubs such as Churchill Brothers, Mumbai FC, Mohun Bagan and United SC.

Dhana has also represented the national team for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

On signing with Jamshedpur FC, Dhanachandra said: "First of all, I would like to thank the club management of Jamshedpur FC for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this family. I am eagerly looking forward to the season with better performance and also being injury free.

"I would like to perform and prove myself at the top level. I can't wait to join the squad and help the club to lift their first trophy."

Jamshedpur FC, CEO, Mukul Choudhari said: "Dhanachandra gives a different dimension to our squad this season. He has been a top-notch defender and his record speaks for himself. We are extremely happy that he would be joining. We welcome him to Jamshedpur."
