Mangaluru, Jun 15: State urban development and housing minister, U T Khader, hit back at former minister, Tanveer Sait, for his statement made at Bengaluru on Thursday after meeting party in-charge, K C Venugopal, that efforts are being made to crush the Muslim leadership in the state, incapable people have been made ministers, and that Zameer Ahmed Khan and U T Khader, who have been made ministers under Muslim quota, are not capable of representing Muslim community of the entire state.
Khader said that in his life, he has never tried to confine himself to being the leader of any specific community. "The Muslim community is not privately owned property of anyone. People of Karnataka will decide who is capable and who is not," he felt.
"I had worked as food and civil supplies minister and health minister during my previous term as legislator. The high command of our party knows how I had performed. There was no blemish in my working. If anyone has suggestions over improving my capacity and functioning style, I will be awaiting their specific suggestions," he added.
Khader also said that Tanveer Sait is close to him, and he prays to the Almighty to grant all the prayers of Sait and realize his dreams. "He is fond of me. Perhaps because of this, he would have passed these comments. There is no question of me snatching away the post of minister from him as it is the decision of the party's national leadership. Last time too I was given the post of minister during the first term. I will work as per the aspirations of the people and the party and will see that the trust they have reposed on me is not belied," he clarified.
