Mangaluru: Parent-teacher interactive session held at LCS

Mangaluru, Jun 18: A parent-teacher interactive session was held for classes KG to XII at Lourdes Central School (LCS) from June 5 to 8.

Principal Fr Robert D’Souza, vice-principal Belita Mascarenhas, class teachers and subject teachers of their respective classes were present.

Anitha Thomas and Ivan Mascarenhas presented the aims and objectives, and rules and regulations of the school. The examination pattern was explained in detail by the exam cell coordinators Gretta Menezes for Classes VI to X, Roshni Jose for Classes XI and XII, and Suneetha for Classes I to V. The parents expressed their views and volunteered to represent the class of their ward.



Fr Robert D’Souza addressed the parents and urged them on the following points:

1. To make sure that their ward studies 2-3 hours every day, to guide and motivate them to study at home and discourage tuitions.
2. Announced that second and fourth Saturday will be a holiday and other Saturdays long normal working days.
3. To cooperate with the rules and regulations of the School.
4. To have a mobile free campus i.e. to discourage students from using mobiles and parents to put their mobiles in silent mode while entering the campus and not to use it before the children.
5. Parents to interact with teachers on Mondays.
6. Remedial classes to be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and students to make use of it.
7. Enrichment programmes and staff meetings will be held on Fridays.
8. Parents dropping only one child should drop them outside the Bejai hall main gate so that the child can walk and have a good exercise; or use school or public transport.
9. Parents were asked to send sufficient homemade food for their ward.
10. Parents were encouraged for car pooling.

The principal proudly announced the 100% results of Class X and Class XII.

He thanked the parents for their dedication and support and presence for the interactive session.
