Mangaluru: St Aloysius Gonzaga School holds investiture ceremony

Mangaluru, Jun 24: The eagerly awaited investiture ceremony for the academic session 2018-19 was held at St Aloysius Gonzaga School on Saturday, June 23. Col M A Rajmannar, SM, director, Army Recruitment Office, Kulur was the chief guest for the ceremony. He was accompanied on the stage by Fr Melwin Mendonca, manager and the principal of St Aloysius Gonzaga School. Fr Leo D’Souza was one of the distinguished guests.

The event began with a formal procession of the new council members, led by the school head boy Luke Samson Lobo and the head girl Delice Soraya Mendes of class X. After the procession the school choir led the gathering into prayer which was followed by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and the head boy and the head girl. The student council members were then conferred with sashes and badges by the chief guest, manager and the principal. Then the oath was administered by the principal.

The chief guest Col M A Rajmannar addressed the students where he urged the students to be vigilant as responsible leaders and lead an exemplary life. Manager Fr Melwin Mendonca in his message highlighted the need to be sensitive to work for the needy and be men and women for and with others.

Deepa Karkada welcomed the gathering and the head boy Luke Samson Lobo rendered the vote of thanks. Jacinta D’Costa, compered the programme in style. The programme concluded with the school anthem.
