Mumbai, Jun 25: Karnataka Sangha on Sunday afternoon June 24 held its 84th annual meeting at Samarasa Bhavan auditorium, Mahim west. President of the sangha, Manohar M Kori chaired the meeting.
Vice president Dr Ishwar Alevoor, honorary chief secretary Dr Bharathkumar Polipu, honorary treasurer advocate M D Rao, joint secretary Amaresh C Patil, honorary joint treasurer Dinesh M Kamath, Kalabharathi convener Dr S K Bhavani, Sambandha monthly magazine editor Srinivas Jokatte, executive committee members B G Nayak, Dr G P Kusuma, N M Gudi, Lalitha P Angadi, Sudhaker Palan, Dr Mamatha T Rao, Durgappa A Kotiavar and Sushila S Devadiga were on the dais.
M D Rao presented the annual accounts. Election officer G T Acharya announced the list of office bearers. Dr Bharathkumar Polipu, Omdas Kannangar, Rajiv Naik and Durgappa A Kotiavar were elected for the year 2018-2021 at the recent meeting. The meeting elected S R Ramanna, Sadananda Ameen and Sudhaker Maindan as next election officer.
Dr B R Manjunath, H B L Rao, Surendrakumar Hegde, advocate Kalakote, K Manjunathayya, Shekar Ameen, S Daya, Mohan Marnad and Jayasheel Suvarna spoke on behalf of the audience and expressed their opinions.
A homage was offered to members, well wishers and authors who passed away in the previous year. Honorary chief secretary Omdas Kannangar gave details of the progress of the sangha and its achievements. Honorary chief secretary Dr Bharathkumar Polipu welcomed the gathering, presented the report of the previous year's activities and last meeting and thanked everyone.
