Two insurgents held in Manipur


Imphal, Jun 29 (IANS): A team of police commandos has nabbed two foreign-based Manipuri insurgents in Moreh, located along India-Myanmar border, officials said on Friday.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Thomas Thokchom, the two insurgents of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Pro) were arrested on Thursday night.

The insurgents have been identified as Thangjam Lanngamba and Yumnam Ashok Kumar. No weapon was recovered from them.

Lanngamba had joined the outfit on June 5, 2009 and underwent arms training at Leseik in Myanmar. He had been deployed at Limatoo camp of the outfit after the training. Ashok Kumar was given basic military training in Limatoo camp in Myanmar.

Cases have been registered against them in Moreh police station.
