Inauguration of Parent-Teacher Association held at St Philomena PU college

Puttur, Jul 2: Inauguration of Parent Teacher Association for the academic year 2018-19 was held at silver jubilee memorial hall in St Philomena PU College, Puttur on June 30.

The programme was inaugurated by the dignitaries by lightening the lamp.

The chief guest Rajendra Bhat K, Jaycee national trainer in his inaugural address advised parents that their children are their valuable gifts. So they should take care of them and in turn should not compare them with others and if they do so, their children will undergo stress. He requested parents that if their children are not interested in any of the subject, they first should find the problems and then try to solve it.



He said that the parents should give importance to the communication skills of their children, they should teach their children to adjust and develop leadership qualities. Along with this, they should learn how to take decision and plan properly to lead a happy life. More than this, children should be taught to love their country.

Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, campus director and the chairperson of PG Studies advised parents to guide their children in the right path. He said that the best service that the parents can do to the society is to up bring their children as a good citizen.

Fr Alfred J Pinto, correspondent of the college, said that the parent should teach their children to have faith and trust in God. Children should be taught the difference between good and bad because the society needs learned, wise and humble people.

Durgaprasad Rai, president of PTA expressed his gratitude and happiness to continue as the president of PTA for the academic year 2018-19.

M A K Mecci, national secretary general and SGF Muneera B Mistry, national vice-president and SGF and Anu Thimmappa, organizing secretary of Karnataka SGF presented an appreciation certificated for conducting a seminar on E-waste.

Students of science and commerce stream were felicitated on this occasion for scoring more than 95 percent in PU board examination.

Thrishul and Sinchana Gowda of commerce stream and Bhavith Kumar of arts stream were felicitated for their outstanding achievement in the field of sports.

Anil Kumar, treasurer of PTA, presented the report of the academic year 2017-18.

Prashath Bhat P, secreatry of PTA welcomed the gathering. Anil Kumar, treasurer of PTA proposed vote of thanks. Usha Yashawanth, lecturer in Kannada compered the progrmamme.

    Parents and Teachers have great benefits to earn by merely interacting with each other on a regular basis so that not only they can focus on the students but also focus on some of the new ideas relating to the future welfare of the Students.

    There is so much to share with each other because the Parents and the Teachers have a shared responsibility while upbringing a student and leading the student thru the right pathway of success.
