Tumakuru, Jul 2: Many must have heard of thieves who steal chains and rob houses. However, one must have rarely heard of a thief who steals milk directly from the udder of the cow of his neighbour.
This amusing incident of theft was reported from Kestoor near here. Manjula, a villager of Kestoor has a cow. Even though she fed the cow to its stomach’s full, it was not giving milk in the early morning. Whenever she used to get up early in the morning and try to milk the cow, the udder of the cow would be empty. However, the cow used to give milk in the evening. Manjula had even got her cow treated by a veterinarian. However, there was no improvement in the situation.
The family who got agitated by the happening decided to watch the cow throughout the night to find out if anything untoward takes place in the night. To their utter surprise, they caught the real thief, who was responsible for the disappearance of the milk from the udder of the cow.
Rajanna, who was Manjula's neighbour used to enter the cowshed in the night and used to milk the cow and escape from the scene. He used to do this for three years and the gullible lady was not aware of this. Rajanna used to steal five litres of milk every day. Finally, Rajanna was caught and arrested by police of Kora police station.
