Mangaluru, Jul 3: An IAS officer, M T Krishna Babu, has been appointed as the new chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) here.
Krishna Babu is a 1993 batch IAS officer.
He brings with him in-depth knowledge and experience in engineering field.
In the capacity as the chairman of Visakhapatnam port, he had succeeded in achieving impressive growth in the turnover of cargo handled, and also in turning that port into a green port.
