Hatred for Modi is sole Opposition glue, says PM

New Delhi, Jul 4 (NIE): Dismissing Opposition moves to put up a united front against the BJP as one “not motivated by national good” but for “personal survival and power politics”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the “Grand Alliance” is merely a “grand race” by his rivals to become Prime Minister.

“Hatred for Modi is the sole gluing force for the Opposition,” Modi said in an interview with Swarajya magazine.

Any comparison between the Opposition parties uniting against the then ruling Congress in 1977 and 1989 to the present move, he said, is “flawed”. The “common motive of the alliance was to protect our democracy that was under great threat due to the Emergency. In 1989, the record-breaking corruption of Bofors had hurt the entire nation,” he said.

“Today, these alliances are not motivated by national good but they are about personal survival and power politics. They have no agenda except to remove Modi… In the Opposition, there is no Grand Alliance, there is just a grand race to be Prime Minister. Rahul Gandhi says he is ready to be Prime Minister but TMC does not agree. Mamataji (West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee) wants to be PM but the Left has a problem. SP thinks their leader, more than anyone else, deserves to be PM. The whole focus is power politics, not people’s progress,” he said.

“Hatred for Modi is the sole gluing force for the Opposition and it is not as if they have not tried Grand Alliances in 2014 and in the ensuing state elections. The results are for everyone to see,” he said.

“How long will the dislike and mistrust these parties and leaders have for each other keep them together? They are in direct bitter contests against each other in various states like West Bengal and Kerala. The last time these parties formed a government in Uttar Pradesh (in 1993), it could not even last two years. Such instability adversely impacts the growth trajectory of our nation,” he said.

Modi said the BJP-led NDA is “not a compulsion” but an “article of faith”. Asked about the weakening of NDA with parties like TDP and PDP leaving it, Modi pointed out that the BJP made its allies part of the government despite having adequate numbers for forming a government on its own in 2014.
“You must understand how we in the BJP view the NDA. NDA is not our compulsion. It is an article of faith. A large and diverse NDA is good for India’s democracy. In a country like ours, it is most important to respect regional aspirations. NDA is committed to fulfilling these aspirations across the length and breadth of India,” he said.

Taking a swipe at the Congress, he said the main Opposition party is fighting a battle for its survival (“astitva ki ladai”) and is now running from pillar to post looking for allies after people rejected its “high-handedness”. He said the Congress has now become like a regional party and cannot become a cementing force or anchor for any alliance of Opposition parties against him.

Describing the next election as a choice between governance and development on one side and chaos on the other, the Prime Minister cited the example of Karnataka where the Congress-JD(S) alliance “stole the mandate” to form a government with “development taking a back seat”.

“In any election, a non-ideological and opportunist coalition is the best guarantee for chaos,” he said, describing Karnataka as “a trailer of what is possibly in store”. According to Modi, Karnataka ministers meet each other only to sort out infighting instead of resolving developmental issues.

The BJP, he said, contests elections on the issues of development and good governance and the mandate it has received in state after state have been historic. “Hence, we are confident that people will repose their trust in us. They (Opposition) have no agenda except to remove Modi,” he said.

You have proved to be popular in publicity without doing anything. Charity begins at home!
why dont you stop your overseas trips and the glamours clothing entertainment at the expense of common mans paid taxes. If you can try developments for all without naming caste creed and states and gender it would be great and the citizens of India will appreciate you and will name you as a PM of real India.

Modiji, try to understand. No one is hating you as a human but what actions you take for the well being of this country. Its really needed to be looked into. Its necessary to spend one day each with your ministers and take account of the good work done and money spent. You will be shocked to see the outcome. Stop blaming Rahulji or any Congress party members. Your government only and only attacking the Congress. Why not other parties?

Don't get worried about the next election. Remember, if we do good, we get goodness in abundance.

Mr. Modi, one brings hatred himself by his words and deeds. No one hates a person for no reason. If majority of people hates a particular person, then there must be something wrong with that person. It is time for a retrospection. In the history of India no one was hated, in your own words, like you are. Why?? I know D Ibrahim is the most hated person in India as well Saeed. Why people have to hate you when you're our PM?? Did anyone hated ABVP when he was PM or even when he was the leader of opposition?? I don't think even Advani was hated in this magnitude. Pesonally the only politician I hated is VS Acharya who went hell soon after I started to hate him and right now I can say I don't like you as the PM of our great nation but don't say I hate you. You, with the knowledge you showed since 4 years, are unfit to be the PM of this great country which produced numerous Scientists, Philosophers, great poets, Engineers, administrators and Doctors. I would like to see MMS, the most educated and soft spoken PM in the world when he was in the office, as the PM of this country again and I am sure he will take this nation forward, just like he did when he had to listen to 14 different party leaders when he was in Office. You could not do one good thing to this country when you have absolute majority. Imagine what MMS could have done if he had absolute majority and bigger say in implementing his own ideas, Well, it's beyond your capacity even to think of that, forget about achieving it.

So many people Hate Modi as he is destroying our country. Snatched contracts to develop the fighter jets from Bangalore based government company HAL to give it to 1 week old zero experienced Ambani owned company Reliance defence. That too paid 300% more for the contract than what UPA had agreed for. I think Reliance defence was established just to get this contract. Chaukidaar is acting as Reliance ka mai Baap.

What do you mean by experience!?. Name one CM or PM or President who were trained and then took that position!?. PVN Rao and Manmohan Singh are best examples of people who became PM but performed extremely well. Rajiv Gandhi too was a great example! He was the one who made telephone and televison to spread to every nook and corner of the country. He was the one who modernised military, Air India and Indian Airlines and built good roads and optical fibre cable throughout the country!. Unless one takes up a position, how can you say experience!?. Rahul gandhi may prove better then PVN Rao! I wont compare with Modiji because rahul is unable to tell so may lies so frequently and fluently!

Ranganath, yes, experience is important but not in politics. Rajiv Gandhi had no experience whatsoever when he was forced into PM seat. In his time India saw revolution in IT, because he hired Sam Pitoda precisely for that job. Bofors which brought in his time ridiculed by every politicians, who have no military knowledge, but it was the same Bofors sent Pakistani soldiers packing from Kargil and BJP did not even opened the mouth about it's (Bofors') quality afterwards. Kejriwal is another example we have and he is doing wayyyyyyy better than Modi. What you need is efficient people around you who are experts in the field like MMS was the Finance minister under Rajiv. Look at the present government, a TV actress gets HR department, a lawyer gets Finance, a sadhvi gets sanitation and a sanyasi gets CM of the most populous state of India. When they all behave that they know better than the executives of the said departments, what do you expect?? We need those leaders who also knows their limitation and gets right people for opinion. Look at Modi's speech, he could not get a decent speech writer for him. When he had one of the best as the governor of RBI, he did not know how to keep him there.
