Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College launches women's forum 'Abhaya'

Mangaluru, Jul 5: Abhaya – Women’s Forum was inaugurated at St Agnes PU College on July 4 at the college auditorium.

Mangaluru, Jul 5: The chief guests for the programme were Ravi M Naik, principal judge, family court, Mangaluru, Dr Rajeshwari H R, district surgeon, superintendent, Wenlock Hospital, Mallanna Gowda, senior judge DLSA, Mangaluru and advocate Praveen Pinto were the guests of honour.

Sr Norine AC, vice president and Tressie Menezes, convenor were present on the dais.



The programme began with a prayer song and lighting the lamp.

Sr Shamita AC, the principal introduced the chief guest and welcomed the gathering. Addressing the gathering, Dr Rajeshwari emphasized the need to create awareness among women through various programmes.

Ravi M Naik spoke on effective time management. The students staged a street play ‘Nukkad’ to spread awareness on the issues related to women and the importance of treating women as equal members of society. The programme was compered by Shailaja, department of Kannada. Kripa Rasquinha delivered the vote of thanks.

The programme ended with the National Anthem.
