Mangaluru: Vikas PU College hosts chemistry workshop for lecturers

Mangaluru, Jul 6: DK District PU College principal’s association and DK PU College chemistry lecturers’ forum on July 6 conducted a chemistry workshop in collaboration with Vikas PU College at its campus here.

The workshop was inaugurated by Nagarajappa M, deputy director, PU Education, DK.

Chief guest of the programme Elvira Philomena, president, DK District PU College principal’s association advised the participants to enrich their knowledge and to utilise the same in the teaching-learning process.



The chief guest and resource person of the progamme Dr Hemant M Pande, head, associate professor, Hislop College, Nagpur, Maharashtra guided all the participants to motivate students in chemistry subject by means of effective teaching methods overcoming the obstacles in the present system of education.

16 students from various colleges of DK with BPL card holders who scored above 95 marks in chemistry in Pre-University Board Examinations 2018 from Dakshina Kannada were felicitated with cash prize on the occasion.

The function was presided over by Dr D Sripathi Rao, correspondent, Vikas PU College, Mangaluru and he briefed on the methodology of teaching chemistry to PU students. Jayanand N Suvarna, president, DK PU College Chemistry Lecturers Forum, Prof T Rajaram Rao, principal, Vikas PU College, Mangaluru and Manjula, HOD, department of Chemistry, Vikas PU College, were present on the occasion.

Murali Krishna welcomed the gathering, Rajesh HOD, SDM College delivered the vote of thanks and Venkatesh K, lecturer in Chemistry, Vikas PU College compered the programme.
