Mangaluru: Posing for selfie with politician - gunman stands suspended

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 7: A policeman, who was assigned duty as gunman for a VIP, was suspended for posing for selfie with the said VIP.

He has been identified as Mallikarjun, entrusted with the duty of serving as gunman for BJP minority morcha leader, Rahim Uchil.

Mallikarjun, it is gathered, is a member of the city armed police force.

Rahim Uchil had left for Dubai on June 23. Before leaving, he had taken selfie in the company of the gunman. It is gathered that as per rules, bodyguards are barred from getting their photos clicked in the company of the VIPs. Sharing of these photos in websites is also banned.

It is learnt that Mallikarjun, in addition to violating the above rule, had also gone on leave without seeking prior permission. The gunman had left for his native place without informing anyone after the above selfie was taken. He also failed to apply for leave thereafter, sources stated.

Rahim was given security by way of gunman after an attempt to murder him had taken place.

Whats wrong with people.. why BJP congress comments... poor fellow is suspended from job just because of this photo ... where as there are so many criminals in police department and in government offices who are free always. Poor police .. he might have been scared and he ran off without taking leave.. because only a police man who is not in higher ranking knows whats the harassment and pressure he is facing in his department.

few days these congress leaders targeted military people in J&K. they blamed the army for human right violation & Pakistan supported their statement. here the govt suspending the gunman for no fault of him. this photo was taken by some one else but gunman was suspended. in this country some people can shout a slogan against this country, they can take procession in favour of terrorist. they can also shout a "tukude" slogan in the name of freedom of speech. but here this poor gunman don't have any freedom. shameless govt.

Mahesh, I would have added a bit more. "In this country, you can have contact with Dawood Ibrahim and talk to him over the phone everyday if you're a BJP minister. In this country, you can go to Pakistan without invitation for Birthday party with all gifts to whole family and hug the PM of Pakistan, if you're the BJP Prime Minister. In this country, you can shout slogans, call for Bharat Bandh for the hike in commodity prices, block the parliament for GST and Aadhar, if BJP is sitting in opposition benches, In this country, you can send your goons to a University and ask them to shout against India and then charge sedition on anyone who opposes Feku Maharaj and Mota Dhaku when BJP in power, In this country, you can call cover all scams as long as BJP in the power, In this country, if you're a BJP leader, you can keep fake promises forever". How's that looks, much longer isn't it?? You're comments too short mate.

this is nothing but a cheap politics. the gunman's main duty is to ensure the safety of that politician. that is the reason he always accompany him. in such a case if any one taken a photo what he can do? if we agree with govt logic then all the gunman should keep distance from that politician may be he should keep distance of minmum 100 meter. then no camera can capture these 2 people in a single photo.

in which mobile they took this selfie. I want to buy that kind of mobile. I think this govt thought that DK people doesn't know about mobile & selfie. what a cheap mentality. this photo was taken by a third person. this is not a selfie. one more thing, here there is no fault of gunman bcoz he should be stand near to the person to whom the security is provided. if he stand 100 meter away from that person then how he can ensure the safety of that person? really meaningless & shameless.

by news heading itself I guessed the politician is from BJP. otherwise this govt wont take such action. this govt neglected coastal region in its budget & now targeting the BJP leader in other way. Congi & JDS main agenda is to targeting BJP in the coastal since people voted them with full majority in this area.

..it seems police dept witch hunting on Govt instruction..it doesnt looks like selfie..he is suspended..Govt has to pay salary until complete enquiry..even inquiry says he is wrong, court will not allow Govt to remove from service..its not a big crime to remove from service..Govt/Dept wasting their time & money..if Govt/dept really concerned then they should remove hundreds of police personal who are working as sahayak in higher officers home..

What is the mistake of gunman if the VIP gets clicked with his gunman ? VIP should know the rules and gunman is not at fault. It is not a selfie by gunman.
