Abu Dhabi, Jul 9: 'Yaadon ki Baarat', a musical event featuring yesteryear’s super hits, made the evening memorable for all the music lovers present at India Social and Cultural Centre on July 5.
The well organized event by Broadway Event Management in association with India Social and Cultural Centre (ISC), Abu Dhabi, took the audience into the memory lane, leaving them spellbound and yearning for more. The show, ably supported by a full-fledged live orchestra by talented musicians and famous singers evoked nostalgia and emotions with their beautiful rendition receiving astounding response from the audience.
The entertainment secretary of ISC Srikumar welcomed the guests and the audience. Rupert Vaz, well-known compere of Abu Dhabi, introduced the theme of the event and lead the prayer Song “Itni shakti hamein de na data” along with the singers to begin the programme.
Rupert Vaz then introduced the compere RJ Sahil (of Radio Mirchi fame) and handed over the mic to him.
The team of talented singers included the versatile singers Anitha, Mohammed Haneef and Ranjan Das who blended their vocals to match the musical marvels of Bollywood playback singers like Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Asha Bhonsle, Lata Mangeshkar and others. Their beautiful renditions turned the evening into a mesmerizing journey through the old and fond memories of the yesteryear’s hits. The enchanted crowd applauded each of the beautiful numbers. The lively compering by RJ Sahil with his ready wit and shayaris in Hindi not only captured the attention of the audience, but also won their hearts. Music for the event was by music director Raj Gopal and his team.
The special attraction of the evening was the dance performance by Nagesh Kumar of Filmfare fame, mimicking the popular artists such as Rajesh Khanna, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Johnnie Walker etc. Audience was found dumbfounded at the precision with which Nagesh performed the mimicry dance. The audience gave him a standing
ovation at the performance enacting as Raj Kapoor.
Broadway Event Management and Royal Institute of Music and Arts were the event partners of the evening’s show. Royal Institute of Music and Arts is one of the oldest and most popular music institutes in Abu Dhabi since 1999.
