Moodbidri, Jul 11: A complaint has been registered against a man by his own community members over fake social media accounts and provocative communal posts.
Ibrahim Khalil from Murali village in Sullia is the accused. Currently he resides in Abu Dhabi.
It is learnt that Kaleel had opened several fake Facebook (FB) accounts in the name of Hindus and Muslims. He used to upload provocative communal posts on his accounts. His community member, Abdul Lathif, a merchant from Moodbidri who was fed up seeing these posts on social media, has now complained to cyber crime branch.
Through a fake account in the name of Devdas Dalit, Khalil used to send vulgar messages to Muslim youth. He used to defame religious leaders too. Khalil who belongs to Salafi community, used to insult religious leaders of Sunni sect. When these religious leaders of Sunni sect traced him, he threatened them on social media. A complaint was registered in this regard too.
It is learnt that Khalil has multiple accounts on Facebook and used profile pictures of other people. He is accused of sending provocative messages on WhatsApp too.
Now it is learnt that Mangaluru cyber crime branch has taken the case seriously and they have said that stringent action will be taken against the accused.
