Bengaluru, Jul 13: Leaders from different parties forgot their enmity, and joined for lunch on a single table. This incident was witnessed at the luncheon hosted at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha by chief minister (CM) H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday, July 12.
CM H D Kumaraswamy, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa, who also happens to be the leader of the opposition in the assembly, and former chief minister, Siddaramaiah, sank their differences and had food on the same table. They seemed to be having a lot of interesting topics to discuss during the lunch.
As a steady stream of legislators and senior officials arrived at the hall, chief minister himself extended warm welcome to each one of them. He led Siddaramaiah to the table that had already been earmarked. When Yeddyurappa arrived, Kumaraswamy got up from his table where he was having food, to extend welcome to him.
Various leaders from different parties who assembled there did not show any signs of bitterness which is otherwise evident in their addresses and gestures. Assembly speaker, K R Ramesh Kumar, water resources minister, D K Shivakumar, pro tem chairman of legislative council Basavaraj Horatti and others mixed freely with everyone else and chatted among themselves. They seemed to have pushed politics to backstage albeit temporarily. The warmth and friendliness between the leaders was a rare scene that caught the attention of everyone.
