Mangaluru: 'Voparinchi Saanz' Konkani musical drama on Jul 15 at Town Hall

Mangaluru, Jul 14: The Capuchin Friars in the city are all set to present 'Voparinchi Saanz', a portrayal of Biblical parables for the fourth time. The fourth and mega show will be held on Sunday July 15 at Town Hall here at 6 pm. 

Speaking to Daijiworld, Fr Melwyn, director of the show said, "The final preparations are in swing. Our artistes are in great spirits as they have high expectations of the show. We earlier performed the same play in three places, but this time we are more excited as this show is on public demand,” 

“We are expecting a large crowd. The event titled 'Voparinchi Saanz' in Konkani and 'An Evening of Parables' in English, portrays the Biblical parables 'The Prodigal Son', 'Foolish and Wise Virgins', 'Lost Sheep', 'Three Servants given Talents' and 'Four Types of Soil’. 



 


The show is written and directed by Fr Melwyn Paul D'Souza and choreographed by Suresh Attavar. The students of Nazareth School and well known artistes of Mangaluru are acting in the musical drama.Entry is free. 

The first show of 'Voparinchi Saanz' was held at Don Bosco hall and received a wide appreciation from art lovers. The play had enthralled the audience because of its superb script, direction and acting. Later two more shows were held.

    I was present fr the 1st show at Don Bosco Hall n it was superb. Great performance by the students. Hat's off to u, Fr. Melwyn fr both being a script writer n directing the play. God bless you in ur endeavours.
