Mangalore: 'I Have Resigned for Welfare of Hindu Society' - Mahendra Kumar

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Oct 3: "Bajrang Dal is a part of Vishwa Hindu Parishat. All of us work for the same cause, of betterment of Hindu society. I have resigned for the welfare of Hindu society, under instructions from seniors. No politics was involved in my decision," asserted Bajrang Dal ex-state convener Mahendra Kumar.

In a press statement issued from the sub-jail here, where he has been lodged currently, Kumar said that Hindutva is in his breath. "I had said that Bajrang Dal supports the reaction of the Hindu society for deriding Hindu gods through books like 'Satyadarshini'. My statement was wrongly analyzed. Lacs of Hindus have awakened to the vilification campaign against Hindu gods. I have decided to join hands with the youth from Hindu society who have taken up cudgels against religious conversions," Kumar said.

He has advised the activists, who will be taking part in the Dattamala campaign from October 13 to 19, to involve with the activates under the guidance of seniors, without getting entangled in any sort of troubles.

In the meanwhile, it has been gathered that all the members of Hebri unit of Bajrang Dal have resigned en masse, in protest against the pressure brought on Mahendra Kumar by the state political leaders and the central leaders to resign from his post in Bajrang Dal. They have also expressed anguish at the fact that Kumar is being framed in several cases at a time, even when he is in the jail. More units might follow suit in the coming days.

On Thursday October 2, policemen came to the local sub-jail, armed with a body warrant against him, in a case relating to an incident in Kollur. This is the sixth case against him in the state, charging him in various sections including attempt to murder, communal provocation etc.

I do not belong to any political party but I do accept H.D Kumarawamy's statements that BAJARANG DAL'S RAMA IS DIFFERENT. National point of view, Bajarang Dal is like naxalites, a terrorists organisation which is not believing in any religion.

This is evident from the fact they destroy places of worship/God, they do not respect constitution, they do not respect human, cultural, religious, national values. Their only objective is to create national anarchy to which majority of Hindus in the country do not support.

Mahendra Kumar should be tried and put behind bars. He is a terror mastermind and threat to society. Conversions is a issue only in BJP ruled states. Mangalore was a peace loving place from centuries and all communities lived in peace and harmony until Bajrang Dal took rootes. Before attacking the Christians,

Mahendra Kumar should have investigated why Hindus change their relegion ?? and who wrote that book insulting the Hindu Gods.Christianity was founded by Christ himself and was strengthened by the blood of scores of martyrs. It can never be wiped out. Illegal conversions are wrong but there are ways and laws to control it. Taking law in ones hand and destroying places of worship is condemnable. Mahendra Kumar can go back to his native place and sell "kori kachpu"

It is evident that Mr. PAI is a spokeperson for evil design of Mahendra and company who are destabilising the true Indianness of our national heritage. He is 100 % pollusioned and instigated by vested interests from hardcore fundamentals in VHP, BJP, Bajrangdal and Modies.

Mahendrakumar had to pay a price for admitting that BD was responsible for the attacks. We all know every attack on religious places always carried out by Sangh Parivar but they always play safe and show the world that some people unhappy with the church activities are resposible for the attacks.

The hatred sown in the minds of young people against Christians & Muslims has just become a small tree. Peace loving, ahinsawadi Gandhiji was killed by the same hate.BD is nothing but another face of Hindu mahasabha and they will blame minorities for all problems of this country. Next Ayodhya (Baba Budangiri) is going to happen in Budan Giri. Pl wait & watch and be vigilant.

This Mr. Mahendra Kumar has been forced to work for the welfare of the Hindu society because the BJP and the sangh parivar has realised that the dirty and divisive politics of the cowbelt wont work in Karnataka because the people of Karnataka are decent and progressive and wont take to this sort of politics, which is alien to their culture. The happenings in Karnataka and other parts of our country are just as a matter of using the Hindus as a vote bank.

Violence in the name of religion is a hideous crime and must be condoned. Mahendra must get his priorities right. If he wants to be a leader, he has to behave as a leader and be a role model by being just, impartial and respecting the constitution and the countrys democracy. Anyone who does not do this, should not be a leader and should resign. Goodbye to u, mahendra kumar. good riddance to bad rubbish.

Mahendra Kumar its time now for u to do penance for the attrocities and crimes committed against the catholic church. You and your Bajrang Dal associates have crusified Jesus Christ for the second time in Mangalore by axing His arms and legs. Judas who betrayed Jesus could not stop his tears and dies consuming poison.

The same fate lies with you too. You are carrying the curse of millions of Catholics. Now however good you may do to the society, you will still be remembered as a man who spread the seeds of hatred in a civilised mangalore society.

I have resigned for the welfare of the Hindu society!!!!! said Mahendra Kumar.... What kind of welfare do you mean Mr. Mahendra? The real welfare is in the unity and uplifting of my neighbor and brothers and sisters who live around me. Do you realize that God created you as the center of the universe and placed you in the center of his creation. Being the center of HIS universe and creation you have an obligation to behave as such so that all things inanimate and creatures, living persons remain related to the centere that you are expected to be.

Did you ever go to school? Did you ever study maths? Did you ever draw a circle? Then you would know the importance of the center in the circle!!! From your recent activities it does not appear that you recognize yourself. In your search for your own identity you seem to be trying to destroy things and persons around you and thus you are headed to your own distruction.

If the higher ranks of the outfit that you belong to have asked you to resign, then it seems that they have revcognized their own identity but may not have humility enough to accept it. You are now professing that you resigned for the Welfare of the Hindu society. Well done. Now start to work among your own society to uplift the downtrodden by the inhuman laws, laws of division between people of the same belief, eliminate the categories based on caste, provide opportunities to the unlucky ones of your household, work toward equality among all of your brothers and sisters within Hinduism. While you are silent against such inhuman practices within your own house, you cannot speak against anything around you. Christianity is a religion that builds up brotherhood and equality, builds up family of families in humanity and teaches the path of love and forgiveness. Have you ever experienced forgiveness? Have you learnt how to forgive? Come be a Chrsitian, and learn how to forgive and love others. Change your heart, open your eyes blinded by the laws that you interpret to suit your ambitions. Recognize your creator in others and honor that crator in yourself.

Having resigned, now you have a lot of time to apply soothing ointment on the wounds that you have inflicted on the Ram and Krishna, Laxmi and Saraswati in others who are your brothers and sisters, the images of God in you and in others. That will be the greatest act of welfare of your Hindu society. Walk in the path that Swami Vivekanand walked Read over and over again the teachings of Tulsidas, Surdas, Kabirdas, Go on Satyagrah in the model that Gandhi laid before us to free India from the foreign rule, but now you go on satyagraha to will free you and your household from the bondage of discrimination, injustice, slavery to inhuman practices. Convert yourself to the true human values, do not go about killing and destroying rather be a builder of the family of families of your brothers and sisters. Jai Hind.

Dear Mr. Pai ... by the way you have chosen to comment it appears that there are different Gods running this world. I pity your understanding. There can be one Creator and the means of practice may be different. Have you ever visited an emergency department of a hospital and witness how the Doctors pump blood into a dying victim? Does the blood tell the Doctor whether the Blood was Hindu, Christinan, Muslim, Sikh or Budhist? It is we who make or break GOD. Poor understanding my freind. You need to be educated.

God Bless you Sushil. What we need is like-minded people to preserve the unity of Mangaloreans as a community, Indians as a Nationality and then we can practice our religions wihtin our homes... can there be different Gods? If yes, why a Christian can take Hindu Blood in a life saving scenario Does the blood say the blood was from a Hindu? No .. We have one God and the way of worship may be different. Who ever says there are conversions... where it all lead to? Only one God ... call him Christ, Call him Ram, Call him Krishna or Call him Allah or Buddha.

There is only one creator and he can not be split into pieces because of the selfish motives of some preachers. I lived in UAE for 35 years a society dominated by Muslims.. I am proud to be a part of it because we are protected for practising our own religion here. Same way our majority should take care of our minorities... that is where God lives. NOT IN BJP, NOT IN VHP OR BAJRANG DAL NOT IN ISLAM NOT IN CHRISTIANITY TAGS.

First of all try to understand why conversion is taking place and what is the root cause of that problem. Don't think that your representing Hindu community, because many hindus are against you and your Bajarang Dal activities because Hinduism never suport VIOLENCE Also you have no right to take law into hands for the betterment of hindu society.

We need leaders to take India to the next century. Our legacy should be on the day of our death/funeral someone remembers us for good reason in his speech. No one wants to be remembered as Nathuram Ghodse, instead everyone would love to be remembered as Gandhiji. Hope someday every Indian will work hard to see our country a developed country rather than fighting for petty issues. We have genuine issues like roads, clean drinking water, power, housing and what not. Our elected governments in the center and state could not provide the basic requirements to its citizens even after 60 years of independence and we all are quiet and inactive. We pay road tax but the government could not give us roads. We satisfy ourselves

    1) by changing the name of the city

    2) by violent protest

    3) by burning public properly not realizing the fact that we have paid for this property and

    4) by fighting with our fellow citizen for dividing one GOD. God will never approve this and surely punish us for this.

There was no way out for Mr. Mahendra kumar, as he had lost support from his Seniors in the BJP Government after seeing the outrage from all the nook and corner of the world. Especially the pressure that brought in by Catholics all over the world and Human rights violations that took place in the hands of Karnataka Police. It is apt for the Government to frame Mahendra Kumar as he became the scapegoat for the BJP govt's hidden agenda, who thought they would get away easily from this whole episode. But the statement that was made by Mahendra Kumar to the press went against the Govt. I hope the present BJP Govt, VHP and all the Bajrangis will learn a lesson from this and learn to respect all the religions in the society, without taking law in to their hands.

It is a positive development which will go some way towards sending a constructive message. It is also a victory for the secular minded people in Karnataka (Hindus / Christians / Muslims) who expressed anguish at the devisive forces trying to achieve vested interests at a huge cost of distroying centuries of peace in the coastal area. We need to stay united in our secular beliefs and should defeat these forces.... we haven't seen the last of it yet.

Nithya, you said right. The DK Catholics, Christians should now focus on the development of the Mangalorean culture and bury the hatchet and any hatred towards the opposite community. Mangalore as a whole is a target by the terrorist and this is not a good sign as police force has to divert focus towards protection of minorities. Minorities is a wealth of our culture and should be protected equally as other but we should also protect our soil rather then just working on a single objective.
